"The Imitation of Christ" (by Thomas a Kempis) is divived into a few parts. The first part is Book One "Thoughts Helpful in The Life of the Soul". One of the chapters in Book One is entitled "Avoiding Rash Judgement".
The beginning of this chapter goes like this: "Turn your attention upon yourself and beware of judging the deeds of other men, for in judging others a man labors vainly, often makes mistakes, and easily sins; whereas, in judging and taking stock of himself he does something that is always profitable."
Above sentences show us how we should think and behave, these sentences can become our guidelines, because we can hurt other people and ourselves. These guidelines seem so easy, but our nature is sinful, we are prone to commit sins. We can pray for ourselves to be better and better, our God is able to give us his graces, e.g. God can teach us to be better for our neighbours.
Our earthly days pass and we are able to be better; we can thrist for being mature Christians. Generally speaking, as I've quoted above "judging and taking stock of himself he does something that is always profitable" will be the best option for ourseleves and our neighbours. We don't know other people's lives and their souls, only God knows us all. So, "avoiding rash judgement" will help us to be better and better people. Each of us has a lot to do in this particular matter. God bless you.
